We are DTC and update!

Well as I said before we were officially DTC on July 14, 2006 (my nephew's sixteenth birthday). The CCAA was in the process of their move as of July 17, and they were closed for that week. Our agency's Beijing office officially took our paperwork to the CCAA on July 26, 2006. I am anticipating a August 4-ish log in date. It's hard to beleive its out of our hands now and we just wait and save our money. Lots of friends and family are having babies around me so that is keeping me busy and excited for them. We still have some remodeling projects going on but right now we are really concentrating on saving some money. How come when you commit to that all of the sudden everything comes due! We're doing ok, I'm just used to buying whatever I want and now I can't do that because we agreed that we would talk to eachother and do the bills together so we can account for where our money is going. We should have no problem saving but for some reason we are spending a lot on crap, lol.

So I quit carrying my debit card and the checkbook with me and its at home. We are sitting down together on the 1st and the 15th of each month to pay bills and discuss expenditures. Boy how much fund does that sound like?

I thought I would post my timeline so you have an idea what all I was accomplishing up until DTC.

February 23, 2006

1. Mailed adoption application overnight to CHI
2. Contacted Ed Petry with Lutheran Social Services to schedule homestudy.
He is sending application today for us to fill out and return. Once he gets that back, he will send us a checklist.
3. Requested 2 copies each of birth certificates and 2 copies of our marriage license
through Vital Check.

February 24, 2006

1. Got letter of employment from SD&L

February 25, 2006

1. Received homestudy information and filled out the packet.

February 27, 2006

1. Did passport paperwork at the post office, sent in. Expect in about 6 weeks.
2. Got background check completed at Sheriffs Department. (Both)

February 28, 2006

1. Mailed homestudy application overnight to Graceworks Lutheran Services
2. Confirmed that CHI received or application on 2/24/2006

March 1, 2006

1. Confirmed Lutheran Services received our application for homestudy.

March 3, 2006

1. Rec'd homestudy packet
2. Rec'd birth certificates and marriage license in mail

March 6, 2006

1. Mailed by overnight mail:
a. Letter to Ohio Job and Family Services for Neglect Registry
b. Request for Transcripts to IRS (should arrive week of 20th)
c. Medical statements to Dr.

2. Tim and I got fingerprinted at Sheriffs station (Web check) had them send results to Lutheran Social Services
3. Tim had doctors appt, has medical forms

March 7, 2006

1. Verified that Dr. Weber, OJFS, and IRS received the paperwork I overnighted to them

March 10, 2006

1. Sent I-600A to Immigration

March 11, 2006

1. First homestudy class, paid $400.00

March 13, 2006

1. Sent Divorce Decrees to Immigration (forgot to send before)
2. Finished both financial affidavits
3. Called Fire Department, appointment 3/23 for Fire inspection
4. County will be out Thurs 12-4 to test well water, results will be available Tuesday
and they will mail them to us

March 14, 2006

1. Received approval paperwork from CHI, returned signed copies with check for
$300.00 by overnight mail.
2. Received letter from Job and Family Services regarding "no abuse record"
3. I 600 A received by immigration along with paperwork!!!!!

March 15, 2006

1. Sent paperwork and check for $1100 to Graceworks for homestudy
2. Got medical evaluation for Graceworks done by Dr. Lisanti
3. Made Tori an appointment for Tuesday March 22 for her check up
4. Got Tim's letter of employment

March 16, 2006

1. Sent Post Adoption Agency Agreement to Graceworks
2. Got mom's letter of reference (need one more family and two more friends)

March 18, 2006

1. LAST home study class!!!!



March 21, 2006

1. Tori's doc appointment. Got form filled out from Dr. Lisanti for her for homestudy
2. Received form from Dr. Lisanti regarding my bloodwork for Dossier

March 22, 2006

1. Sent Tori's medical form to Graceworks along with a copy of my CHI medical form.
2. Fire Inspection today
3. Received water test results

March 23, 2006

1. Mailed fire inspection report and water sample report to homestudy agency

April 3, 2006

1. Received fingerprint appointment for April 20, 2006 at 8:00 a.m.
2. Received Alisha's letter of recommendation

April 17, 2006

1. Had First homestudy appointment and safety audit, should have final homestudy by June 6, 2006

April 20, 2006

1. Fingerprinted at INS

April 21, 2006

1. Received passport in the mail

April 21, 2006

1. Had my homestudy appointment in Springfield

May 8, 2006
